Entry #5 - Let's Walk

Finally, a blog where I don't have to license any photos...

In most arches, the prettiest stone is the keystone, which is the stone in the middle at the top of the arch. In my city, we have a lot of really pretty keystones, and this blog will focus on them. Click on any image to view the full size!

This is one of the prettiest buildings near my school. Not only are the keystones on the upper levels really nice, but on the lowest level, the arches have faces as keystones.

This one looks like a sea-shell. Pretty cool, eh?
Man, now I just want sea-food

This last arch is actually special: it's on my school! It's sort of funny how you never really notice things like this on buildings you go into every day, unless you're really looking for it. Maybe that's a consequence of living in a hyper-modernist brutalist world: we're not used to seeing beauty in things, so our eyes don't look for it in our every day life. Either way, it's great having structures like this in my city.
